Create your Own Vision Board, Also Known as: Treasure map – Dream board – Goal map – Goal board

A vision board (also known as a treasure map, a dream board,  goal map or goal board) is a visual representation of what you would like to manifest in your life. It is a powerful visualization tool that activates the law of attraction to make your dreams a reality.

There is a lot of talk about a vision board as a tool to help make the Law of Attraction a part of your life.

To create a vision board you will need:

# Poster board or foam board.
# An assortment of magazines (you can get them at libraries, various businesses, doctor or dentist offices, or hair salons), preferably in color.
# Glue. Do not use Elmers as it makes the pages ripple. Tape rollers or glue used for scrapbooking works well.
# Scissors.
# Optional- computer with printer to print pictures from the internet.

With a computerized version of your vision board you can:

# Send it to a friend or coach who will support you.
# View your vision board as a screen saver or wallpaper.
# Print a graphic reminder of your dreams and goals.
# Add motivational music.

Before you begin to create your vision board get clear on what you want. Do you want to manifest more money? A new car? A better job? More time? All of these?

You can choose a specific theme, such as work & career, or combine your dreams and goals to make an overall picture of what you want your life to look like.

1. Go through magazines and cut out all the pictures, headlines and words that are relevant to your goal. Have fun with it – choose whatever resonates with you.

2. Sort through your pictures and phrases and arrange them on the board. Get creative and allow yourself to connect emotionally. Discard any pictures that don’t touch your emotions. A vision board is more powerful when you are feeling your visions. When you are satisfied with the arrangement glue your pictures to the board.

3. Hang your vision board in a location where you will see it every day. It may be your office, or bedroom, or any room where it will get your attention. The more visual exposure you have to it the better.

4. Update your vision board to keep you inspired. It should make you feel charged and passionate about reaching your goals. If you find your vision shifting and/or it is losing its impact, update your vision board with fresh images.

You can also create an electronic vision board with vision board software. This takes the experience to a whole new level and works especially well if you spend a lot of time at your computer during the day.
